Brown-eyed Primose

picture of a creosote bush wildflower

There are ten different sub-secies of Brown-eyed Primrose (Camissonia claviformis) in the western United States.

They are members of the Evening Primose Family (Onagraceae), distingushed by the brown center of the flower, with otherwise white petals.

Some primrose species, but not, all considered edible. Safety suggests leaving this wildflower on the stem. It blooms annualy.
