Foxglove

There are times when it is reasonable to ask how such a pretty flower can be classified as weeds. The case of the foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) is one such instance.

Originally introduced from Europe as an ornamental flowering plant, it easily escapes the garden and grows agressively in the wild.

Foxglove is easily recognized by the flowers. While they appeal to many gardeners' eyes, the flowers and plants are poisonous to both humans and animals.
