Virginia Rail

Virginia Rails are relatively small and stocky birds in the rail family. They have brown feathers and a long orange or red bill that curved downward.
Freshwater marshes and ponds with ample vegetation are their prefered habitat. They are secretive and spend most of their time walking the ground among the reeds and high grasses.
