Resin Bee

Resin bee is a common name given to a group of solitary ground nesting bees in the family Megachilidae, that line their nests with resin from trees.
The basic yellow pattern on the abdomen tentatively places this species in the Anthidiellum genus, perhaps Anthidiellum notatum.
There might be up to fifty different Anthidiellum and Anthidium species with similar yellow or white patterns on the abdomen and thorax, making a careful examination of the pattern important for identification purposes.
Sometimes they are also generally called Mason or Potter bees.
