Cuckoo wasp is the common name given to a group of wasps in the Family Chrysididae.

Approximately one dozen genera in the subfamily Chrysidinae share the physical characteristics of being on the small size (1/2 inch) with a metallic green to blue body.

All Cuckoo wasps use other wasp nests to lay their eggs, and their young then feed on either the food for the other wasp larvae, or the other wasp larvae.
