Bombus Californicus or the California Bumblebee is a small bumblebee of the Western North America.
Depending on the time of year, it can be found flying from British Columbia, south to Mexico.
It shares similar features with the larger Yellow-faced bumblebee (Bombus vosnesenskii). Both have predominantly black body hairs with patches of yellow hairs at the top of the thorax and bottom of the abdomen.
The lack of yellow facial hair differentiates the two species. The picture highlights the specie's facial pattern.
