Erichson's White Skipper

picture of an Erichson's White Skipper

Erichson's White Skipper (Heliopyrgus domicella) is one of many regionalized skipper species, found only in the desert Southwest.

It's also one of only a handful of white skipper species in the United States, so named because of the species' white wings.

The picture shows the Erichson's to resemble many Checkered-Skipper species. However, the strong white bands across the wings serves to differentiate it from Checkered-Skipper species.
