The Brown Longtail (Urbanus procne) is one of approximately one dozen Longtail skipper in the Urbanus genus found in the United States.

The genus is a tropical genus, and with the exception of the Dorantes Longtail and the Longtailed-skipper, all species are found only along the Lower Rio Grande Valley and Southern Arizona.

The picture shows the very plain looking male, with the long brown tails entact. The female has thin, light white stripes on the forewings.
