Bronze Jumper

The cream color cap and lining around a bronze color abdomen serve as good field identification clues for the Bronze Jumper (Eris militaris)

They are members of the Dendryphantinae subfamily, the same subfamily with the more common Phidippus species. Nonetheless, the Bronze Jumper can be found from coast to coast in both the south and the north.

Females, like the one pictured below, can be a bit more difficult to identify. The white stripe pattern down the middle of the abdomen is a good clue.
