Bush Lily

| Flower Species Types of Flowers Flowers of South Africa |
The Bush lily (Clivia miniata) gets ranked in the favorite house plant category because its beautiful flowers are capable of blooming in shade tolerant environments common to many homes.
As an outdoor plant, they grow well in gardens located in frost-free climates associated with USDA hardiness zones 8-10.
Often bush lilies get described as a family of bulbous perennials in the family Amaryllidaceae. However, they can also be seed grown.
When planted as indoor plants, they traditionally bloom in spring.
As annual garden plants, new planting typically occurs in spring, following the final frost, for summer blooming. The top picture shows their tendency to bloom in large bunches.
