Turkey Tail mushrooms (Trametes versicolor) are common and easily identifible shelf mushrooms.

The species ranges across much of the United States, with color variations found from location to location.

They grow in both large and small clusters on trees. Their tradition brown and tan circular stripes are often mixed with other colorful shades, including the green moss shading on the turkey tails in the top picture.
