Southern Dogface Butterfly

With a Coast to Coast range, it is also one of the more common of all Sulfur species found in the United States.
The picture shows a side view of the Southern Dogface. The pointed tip at the top of the wing, along with the white spots in the middle of both the top and bottom wings, serve as the basic field ideintificaiton marks.
Because they are a southern species, they can be found flying and nectaring on flowers from spring through fall.
