Orange-crowned Warbler

orange-crowned warbler

The Orange-crowned Warbler is primarily a West Coast bird, however it is found in Southern States during winters.

The Orange-crowned is often described as nondescript, with an overall olive color on the back and buff on the breast.

The warbler in this picture has its head tilted down. There is no orange crown showing. It's sometimes difficult to see, but the bird does get its name from a characteristic orange crown.
