Swamp Sparrow

swamp sparrow

Swamp Sparrows are one of the rusty crowned sparrows. They also have some streaking on the breast.

As the name implies, they can be found in swamps and marshes during breeding season in the north, as well as similar habitat in their southern winter range.

Swamp sparrows have traditionally been considered an East Coast species. Since the mid-1980s their populations have been increasing on the West Coast.
