Types of Sparrows
Sparrows, juncos, towhees, longspurs and Emberizid buntings fit into the family. Sparrows are perhaps the most well known members.
Sparrows are generally small, brown-bodied birds with streaked backs and conical bills. They feed on or near the ground but each species has its own habitat preferences. It is always fun to identify the sparrows in your yard.
