Cinnebar Caterpillar

cinnabar caterpillar

Cinnebar caterpillars are considered beneficial because they feed on Ragwort, a wildflower that is toxic to livestock.

Their introduction is often part of a plant control strategy.

One fun fact about the caterpillar is that it turns color after metamorphosis. The Cinnebar Moth is a unique black and red color.
