Sweet Creek Falls

Sweet Creek Falls is a smaller series of falls, located in the Siuslaw National Forest. It is a perfect waterfall destination for those who enjoy out of the way excursions during trips to the Oregon coast.

More specifically, Sweet Creek is located in the Coastal Mountain Range, close to Mapleton, just east of the coastal town of Florence. Look for a sign on the right side of the road that says Sweet Creek Road (County Road 48) when you pass over the Siuslaw Bridge in Mapleton.

Follow the road for approximately 12 miles. There will be a Sweet Creek Falls trail marker on the road that leads to a parking lot and picnic area.

The trail is a beautiful and easy walk through old growth forest, suitable for adults and children.

The waterfalls along the creek are not especially tall. They are, however, very nice looking. Additionally there are many shallow areas of the creek suitable for wading or swimming.
