Calypso bulbosa, more commonly known as a calypso orchid, is an orchid species native to the Northern Tier and Western United States.

It is the only species in the Calypso genus found in the United States, generally blooming in the spring.

Found in the right environment, at the right time of the year, dozens can be they can be seen blooming in one area.

As a small flowering plant that grows among old growth trees, it does not transplant well for home or garden use.
