Russula Brevipes is a large and fairly common member of the Russula mushroom family.

You find them them on the ground in mixed forest areas from coast to coast.

Identifying them often starts by searching for a white top rising slightly above soil level. The top is commonly covered by needles or leaves.

They are edible, however they have little taste.
