Mount Shasta

picture of mount shasta

Great PR by naturalist John Muir in the late nineteenth century provided Mount Shasta with a mystique that still holds today.

At 14,179 feet in height, Mount Shasta, the second largest peak in the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest, is located in Northern California.

On sunny days, it dominates the scenery for one hundred miles in every direction.

The area in and around the mountain are popular hiking and camping destinations.
