Mount Adams

picture of mount adams

Reaching a height of 12,281 feet makes for a large mountain. In Washington State, it makes Mount Adams the second largest of the Cascade volcanic peaks, next to Mount Ranier.

Unlike its fellow volcanic mountain to the east, Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams has not experienced an eruption for over one thousand years.

It's a popular wilderness area and hiking destination close to the Columbia River Gorge.
