Subalpine Spirea

picture of a subalpine spirea flower

Subalpine Spirea or Mountain Spirea (Spiraea densiflora) is a deciduous shrub found growing in mountain areas, especially in mountain meadows, along the West Coast.

Many spirea species, including the Subalpine Spirea attract butterflies.

Spiera also attract many gardeners, partly because of their hardiness, partly because of their showy pink flowers.

Flowers bloom throughout the summer, with bloom time dependent on the altitude in which the plant is growing.
