Alligator lizards are characterized by triagular flat heads, long thin bodies and short legs.

This Alligator Lizard was enjoying a sunny day. It is probably a Northern Alligator Lizard.

When you are around any Alligator Lizard, be careful not to touch them. They get the name "alligator" from their strong jaws, and they will bite you.
