picture of a pair of striped meadowhawks

The Striped Meadowhawk (Sympetrum pallipes) is one of about fourteen different Meadowhawk species found in the United States.

The white striped throax explains the species' name. It helps to differentiate the Striped from other Meadowhawk species.

The top picture shows a Striped Meadowhawk pair in a wheel, and the bottom picture shows either a female or a juvenile.
