Oregon and Washington Wildflowers

The variety of native plants in the Pacific Northwest means that meadows, mountain sides, forests and stream banks continue to show their colors throughout June.

The handful of flowers listed in the box represent a small sample that either begin to bloom or continue with their blooming season during the month.

With the exception of the Blue-eyed Mary and White Shooting Star, the listed flowers also rank among the largest and showiest of the blooms, making them easy to spot during a stroll.

Hummingbirds, for example, can easily spot, and are attracted to honeysuckle, Indian Paintbrush and Columbine.

Lilies, on the other hand, are a popular people flowers, and Camas Lilies, Snakelilies and Tiger Lilies are very popular native flowering plants of the Pacific Northwest.

Shrubs are also a popular category of plant, represented here by the Pacific Rhododendron and Wild Rose.
