Spraxis are one of the lesser known genera of flowering plants in the iris family.

They are native to South Africa and have been hybridized to produce a multitude of colors. The top picture shows a variety with white petals contasted with a yellow purple base.

The flowers grow on a thin stem capable of producing multiple blooms.
