Spraxis are one of the lesser known genera of flowering plants in the iris family.
They are native to South Africa and have been hybridized to produce a multitude of colors. Most varieties are planted as bulbs and flower during the spring.
The top picture shows a variety with white petals contrasted with a yellow purple base. The flowers grow on a thin stem capable of producing multiple blooms.
