Redsepal Evening Primrose

picture of a redsepal evening primrose flower

Redsepal Evening Primrose (Oenothera glazioviana) is a large yellow flowering plant introduced from Europe as an ornamental.

It is still grown in many gardens and has now escaped and can be found growing wild along both coasts.

Multiple flowers bloom on a large spike from late summer through early fall, depending on their growing location,

Like other flowers in the Evening Primrose family, you have to photograph them during the late evening hours when the petals fully open.
