| Additional Flower Resources Edible Flowers Flower Power |
Nasturtium (Tropaeolaceaeare) are a group of introduced plants from Mexico, Central and South America.
In the United States they are treated as annuals, traditionally planted after the last spring frost. Different varieties are chosen for their utility as ground cover or as trailing vines.
The orange flower shown at the top of the page is only one example the group's bold colors .
In addition to being colorful, the flowers and leaves are also edible. The leaves can substitute for lettuce.
