Hebe are a genus of flowering shrubs, with the bulk of the one hundred or so species native to New Zealand.
Despite the large number of species, Hebes are not generally known outside the West Coast and West of the Cascades and Sierra Nevada, where climactic conditions (not too hot in summer, not too cold in winter) suit their growth.
The picture shows one of the species with purple and green petals contrasting with the nice looking purplish-blue flowers.
