Sparkling Violetear Hummingbird

The Sparkling Violetear (Colibri coruscans) are one of a couple violetear hummingbirds native to Central and South America.

It is reported as a very common species and larger than average species.

The Sparkling Violetear in the picture is one of the more colorful species. Brown Violetears, for example, are mostly brown, with a violet streak on the side of the head in the vicinity of the ear.
