Grapefruit on Tree

picture of grapefruit on the tree

Grapefruits are citrus fruits that grow on tress in southern climates.

They are a relatively new fruit, commonly thought to be a hybrid between an orange and pummelo. Their name is derived from the way the fruit grows on trees, in bunches like grapes.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, China produces the most grapefruit in the world, followed by the United States.

Grapefruits are an excellent source for Vitamin C.
