Snowbrush or Snowbush (Ceanothus velutinus) is one around sixty different Ceanothus specis native to the United States.

Most of the species are evergreen flowering shrubs native to the Western United States, and many of the shrubs bloom with white flowers. Blue Blossom Ceanothus is another popular flowering shrub choice.

In its natural environment, Snowbrush grows in sunny forested ares at mid to lower elevations and is known for its aromatic leaves.

In a landscape setting, it is drought resistant.

Mountain Balm, another common name for the shrub, refers to the fact that Native Americans used the leaves as a medicinal remedy for rashes.
