Rock Rose is the common name for the genus of flowering plants (Cistus) in the rockrose family (Cistaceae).

The genus consists of a couple hundred plants native mostly to Europe, and although no Cistus species are native plants in the United States, a handful of species grow wild in California.

Their showy flowers make them a popular shrub in cultivated in gardens around the southern parts of United States (USDA zones 8-10). Shades of red, pink and white are common flower colors.
