Red Penta (Pentas lanceolata) or Pentas or Star cluster, is a popular, low growing shrub in the Southeast.

It is a non-native species that produces clusters of flowers atop a small mound of dark green, veined leaves.

The plant is heat tolerant and grows almost effortlessly in sandy or well drained soils.
