Cat's Ear

cat's ear wildflower

The Cat's Ear (Calochortus subalpinus) is also known as the Star Tulip.

The picture shows the three petals, three sepals and six stamen, readily identifying it as a member of the lily family.

Cat's Ear get their name from the petals. They are a soft gray or off white color with small whiskers on them, just like a cat.

They are found in the Pacific Northwest.
