Big Deervetch

picture of Big Deervetch flowers

Big Deervetch (Lotus crassifolius), a native West Coast shrub in the Pea Family, where it grows on mountains and hillsides.

The red and white flowers are unusual for the Lotus genus, and they bloom throughout the spring.

Growing to about three feet in height, with round leaves, they also make nice medium sized garden shrubs.
