Autumn Sage

picture of red autumn sage flowers, salvia greggii

Autumn Sage (Salvia Greggii) is a small, native flowering shrub of Texas that produces brilliant red flowers.

Its popularity as a small garden shrub that attracts hummingbirds and butterflies continues to expand, and it can be found growing in Southern climates from Florida to California.

Most garden centers recommend it for sunny areas in USDA zones 7-10. Additionally it is adaptable to both drought and high humidity regions.

In areas within close proximity to zone 7, it may be adaptable to a large container home on a sunny patio. The plant grows up to three feet tall and wide, requiring a suitably large container.
