Green-Winged Teal

The Green-winged Teal (Anas crecca) is a dabbling duck commonly found across the United States and Canada.

It is a highly migratory species. Summer brings large populations to northern breeding grounds. Most of the population migrates south for the winter, however there is a year round population in some sections of the Pacific Northwest.

In season you often find them in and around shallow ponds and streams in wooded areas. They also inhabit shallow mudflats around coastal areas.
