Cinnamon Teal

picture of a male and female connamon teal

The Cinnamon Teal (Anas cyanoptera) is a diving duck found almost exclusively west of the Mississippi River.

It breeds in the Western United States and winters in Mexico.

The name teal is common applied to a variety of dabbling ducks around the world, and they are formally categorized in a couple different genus.

The picture shows a male and female pair. The cinnamon colored duck is the male. The female has the brown feathers.
