Dragonflies: Darners Darners Dragonfly Pictures

Along with its species name habitat, the California Darner (Aeshna californica) is an early flying dragonfly that ranges from California, north through British Columbia.

The yellow spot at the top of the head and the lack of top thoracic stripes are distinctive field identification marks.
