Westfir Covered Bridge

picture of the westfir covered bridge

Westfir, a small community just east of the Cascade Mountains off Hwy 58, is also on the West Cascades National Scenic Byway.

The Westfir Covered Bridge was built in 1944 by the Westfir Lumber Company to connect its offices and lumber mill.

The bridge is notable for being the longest covered bridge in Oregon (180 feet) and having a separate walkway through it.

The angle of this picture shows it crossing a fork of the Willamette River.
