Halysidota are a small genus of moths in the Tiger Moth family (Arctiinae).
Like other tiger moths, they are initially identified by the very fuzzy body. The extra long tufts of hair near the caterpillar's head and tail are field identification clues for the genus.
The top picture probably shows a Schaus' Tussock Moth caterpillar (Halysidota schausi), a South Texas native moth.
Many Halysidota caterpillar species are yellow and the bright yellow caterpillar stands out against the green backgound.
