Gulf Fritillary Caterpillar

The Gulf Fritillary Butterfly (Agraulis vanillae) is a common Heliconiinae species in the souther half of the United States.

The caterpillar is orange with dark spikes of hair protruding from the body.

It feeds on plants in the Passiflora genus, better known as passion vines.
