There are some hints of a blue butterfly in the Brown elfin. It does not have a tail and there are patches of blue around the ends of wings.
The Brown Elfin is a common butterfly along the west coast and the northeastern portion of the United States. There is also a small population in the upper-midwest.
It is a small brown butterfly with a purple splotch at the bottom of the wing.
