Gilled Bolete (Phylloporus rhodoxanthus)

The Gilled Bolete (Phylloporus rhodoxanum) represents one exception to boletes as pored mushroom rule.

A handful of Phylloporusgenus species grow in the United States, some bruise blue, others do not. The bottom picture shows the blue bruise on the bright yellow gills. It took time (a couple of minutes at least) for the bruise to develop.
