Pacific Slope Flycatcher

picture of a Pacific Slope Flycatcher

Like many of the Empidonax flycatchers, the Pacific-slope Flycatcher (Empidonax difficilis) is a small, dull colored bird.

It breeds along the forested areas of the West Coast, and the tear-drop looking eye-ring serves as a good field identificaiton clue.

During winter they migrate to the coastal areas of Western Mexico.
