Butterfly Video

The increasing popularity of video on the internet provides many opportunities for butterfly video, with quality ratings that can easily range on a scale of one through ten.

Reviewing the different video often takes a significant amount of time and energy. The two videos presented here rank toward the top of the quality chart.

The first video is a short and simple look at the Fender's Blue butterfly, a subspecies of the Boisduval's Blue (Plebejus icarioides), and listed as endangered since 2000.

The second video, butterfly life cycle, is one of many similar videos published on the internet. Almost all school children learn about the butterfly life cycle, and filming the change from a chrysalsis to a butterfly can be a relatively easy task using a camera (with a time elapse setting) placed on a tripod.

This particular video, created by a teacher and six year old student, adds a creative twist to the topic by presenting the story using a variation of clamation and stills.
