Global Warming News

Global warming is a common name given to the theory that increased atmospheric emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs), such as carbon dioxide (CO2), are warming the planet. The term climate change is also commonly used interchangably with the term global warming. It might be easy to think of the two terms as related. As anthropogenic emissions increase, causing increases in average daily temperatures around the world, climate patterns associated with weather events such as rain and snow, are also changing.

Scientists who work on climate change use General Circulation Models GCMs, statistical global weather forecasting models, in order to make long term weather or climate predictions.

If the global climate is changing as the models predict, traditional weather patterns around the world will also change. Questions like the relationship between Climate Change and Hurricanes are popular today because of concerns about changing weather patterns.

Climate scientists often check on The Reliability of GCMs to improve on their long term climate predictions.
